With more than 11,000 graduates, the Academy for Creating Enterprise is committed to helping relieve poverty through business creation. Come and see for yourself through participation in one of our more than 220 Chapters worldwide.

What is a Chapter?

Chapters are small groups, normally between 10-20 people per group, which meet together to provide peer-to-peer mentoring. During chapter meetings, graduates receive additional business training and support to start and grow their own businesses. For example, during chapter meetings, an aspiring mechanic shop owner can meet with an established mechanic to be mentored as they begin their business. As you can imagine, access to, and participation in, these chapters greatly increase the chances for business success and self-reliance of families.

What are the Benefits?

Access to the Academy’s Portal

As a member of an ACE Chapter, you have access to the Academy’s member portal. On the Portal you can access meeting agendas, communicate with other Academy members, add your business to the Academy’s Business directory and keep updated on your Chapter’s news.

The Portal is also a tool used by the Chapter Presidency to enter attendance, create announcements, communicate with Chapter members in bulk, and receive online training.

Monthly Training Meetings

These meetings analyze various business topics with material provided by the Academy to each Chapter. Training videos, case studies, group feedback, etc. are used. During the meetings a model of teaching based on the understanding of the principle, the application of the principle, the establishment of commitments and its consequent follow-up is followed. When everyone actively participates in the meetings, a great atmosphere of fellowship and support is created. Although meetings are monthly can be adjusted to local needs.

Small Support and Monitoring Groups (PGAS)

They are groups of 3 to 4 people within a Chapter who work together with the aim of giving each other mutual support and strengthening in their efforts more closely. In each PGAS its members are kept in constant communication through emails, messages or meetings. All this is independent of the monthly meeting of your Chapter, but does not replace it. All the PGAS of the same Chapter inform the Presidency of their Chapter about their activities. When the PGAS work properly, the success of their members is strengthened and therefore the success of the Chapter.

Business practices

It is a business experience in which, for a week, a member of a Chapter visits and receives 100% practical and face-to-face advice from a member of another Chapter in another city whose business is similar but with a level of development and experience higher. Because the focus is to learn the administrative part of that specific business (Suppliers, Sales, Systems, Taxes, etc.), the participant must already know the technical part of it. Without having to go on a week visit for hands on, belonging to a Chapter means that there is constant mentorship.
